SPECIAL NOTICE PLEASE READ

Parents are advised that we have received notice from the Richmond Teachers' Association/BCTF that Monday, February 27th, 2012 will be a "Provincial Day of Action" across the Province of BC.  Based on information obtained to date, we understand that the plans for the day of action will have no impact on regular student instruction which occurs between the hours of 8:52a and 2:45p, but  will involve teacher meetings over lunch and possibly teacher demonstrations after school in areas which may be adjacent to the school grounds.

We have also been advised that teachers will work only from "bell to bell" by arriving at school in the morning just before the bell rings to start the school day and leaving school soon after the bell at the end of the day. As well, we also believe that any extra-curricular activities will be put on hold for the day.

We share this information with you to make you aware that there may be increased traffic around the school immediately before and after school hours and therefore ask that you and your children be vigilant at these times.  As well, since we anticipate that teachers may not be in the school until just before the first bell and may leave immediately after, students are asked to remain at home until just before school begins and to leave the grounds right after school, as supervision may not be as extensive on that day as it is on a regular school day.

We appreciate your support as we deal with these unusual circumstances.  Please contact the school if you have any questions and we will do our best to keep our parent community apprised of any changes should they arise.
