After much discussion and consideration by staff, we reached consensus on a Social Responsibility Matrix that we all value and can support.  We wanted to ensure our new Dixon matrix valued both our French and English students.  We also really felt that we wanted to step away from a rule based matrix and focus our efforts on having students find intrinsic motivation to act in a kind and caring way.  Pride and Honour are two descriptors that we really felt the Dixon community would understand and value.  We also provided a focus from inside-out... with Honouring Self being a starting point for our students, followed by Honouring Others and finally, Honouring the Environment.  Next steps will be introducing this to students and our community and determining areas of teaching for each focus.
