Learning is holistic and focuses on connectedness and sense of place

February 10th our entire school community came together for a day to celebrate Carnaval as it is celebrated in Quebec. Our learners travelled around the school from classroom to classroom from activity to activity within their family teams. Family teams were lead by our student leaders in grade 5, 6, and 7. This big school event connected our students to the history or story of Carnaval. The story of history of the language – French –a number of our divisions are immersed in daily. The immersion in a day of learning about the culture  and story of Quebec helped connected our learners to each other and to the stories of our school community. The amazing staff also collaborated and worked together to coordinate this day. Our parent community helped in classrooms and helped prepare a sample of Quebec cuisine for every learner.
