The Elected Positions
Chairperson - convene and preside at membership, special and executive meetings; prepare and present meeting agenda; act as official spokesperson for the organization; and act as a signing officer for the PAC.
Co-Chair or Vice Chair- assume the responsibilities of the Chairperson in the Chairperson's absence or upon request; assist the Chairperson in the performance of his/her duties; act as a signing officer; and accept extra duties as required.
Secretary- record the minutes of all general, special, and executive meetings; keep an accurate and up-to-date copy of the Constitution and Bylaws and have copies available for members upon request; and issue and receive correspondence/minutes on behalf of the organization.
Treasurer- one of the signing officers of the PAC; receive all funds for the PAC; disburse funds authorized by the executive or members; maintain an accurate record of all expenditures of the Council; give a report of all receipts and expenditures at the general meetings; deposit all funds collected on behalf of the PAC in an account at a recognized financial institution; assist with any financial audits and ensure that the accounting procedures as laid out by the School District's PAC Treasurers’ workshop are followed.
The Volunteer Positions
School Planning Council Representative - three parents form an advisory body whose major responsibility is to consult with the school community in developing, monitoring, and reviewing school plans for improving student achievement. The SPC meets after school 1 to 2 hours, approximately 4-5 times per year.
Canadian Parents For French (CPF) - CPF is the national network of volunteets which values French as an integral part of Canada and which is dedicated to the promotion and creation of French-second-language learning opportunities for young Canadians. A Dixon representative attends monthly meetings to keep our school up to date on French immersion in BC.
Early Warning Coordinator- organizes volunteers who daily keep track of student's attendance at the beginnin of the school day and after lunch to ensure all students are accounted for. Volunteers check the Early Warning message machine to gather messages indicating which children will be late or absent.
Food Day Coordinator - select, collect money, order and distribute food on selected day of each month.
Fundraising Coordinator - select fundraising activities, impliment a fundraising plan for the year, organize volunteers and oversee activities.
Guest Speakers Coordinator - select and coordinate guest speakers with educational or parenting topics for the PAC.
Richmond District Parents Association (RDPA) Representative - attends monthly District Parent Advisory Council (DPAC) meetings for the Richmond School District. The Representative will report back to the Dixon PAC any items of interest relating to Richmond schools, the School Board and PACs.
Dragon Wear Coordinator - selects, collects orders from families and distributes Dixon Dragon Wear clothing.
Social Responsibilty Representative - a group of volunteers promoting social responsibility at the school and the community.
Teachers' Luncheon Coordinator - organize volunteers to cook, bake and donate food for a pot luck lunch in appreciation of our Teachers and all their hard work.
