1.Welcome & Introductions
Sandra opened the meeting and welcomed all present.
2.Review and Approval of Agenda
Approved.
3.Review and Approval of Minutes of Last Meeting
Minutes of April 16th, 2018, meeting approved.
4.Administrators’ Report
Sean Harrington reported on the following upcoming events:
· ‘Dragonflies’ club kids are working hard on the school’s outdoor gardens.
· Awards to be handed out May 17th, 1:10 pm, for competitors at the recent track-meet.
· Teacher will be spending the Professional Development day on May 18th focussing on Musqueam, aboriginal studies.
· Victoria Day, May 21 – no school.
· Dragon Day will be on Friday, June 8, with food and concessions still to be determined.
· ‘Music In Our Schools’ band concert took place on May 9thfor grade 6/7’s at Gateway Theatre.
· The in-school Entrepreneurial Fair was put on by the English classes on May 11th.
· Early dismissal scheduled for Tuesday, May 22nd at 2 pm.
· ‘Welcome to Kindergarten’ information sessions is scheduled for Thursday, May 24th, and a PAC representative is sought to talk to new parents about the PAC.
· Another book-fair is scheduled for May 28th to 31stand parent volunteers are needed.
· High school orientation at McMath for grade 7’s is scheduled for May 23rd.
5.Treasurer's Report
Laura Gillanders reported that fundraising has so far brought in approximately $9,000 and that the PAC assets and liabilities are in alignment with the budget.
6.Fundraising Report
Diana reported that the last movie night earned approximately $600 and more food days and pizza days are still ahead.
Sandra reported that the ordering deadline for the ‘emergency kits’, to fundraise for the Quebec trip, has been extended until the end of this week.
Motion– Diana White moved that up to $300 be approved to fund a recognition plaque and take-home plagues for the school’s year-end ceremony graduating student in overall school contribution and athletics. Seconded and approved unanimously.
Motion to Adjourn Meeting:
MOVED, SECONDED and CARRIED that meeting be adjourned at 8 p.m.
