1. Welcome & Introductions
Sandra opened the meeting and welcomed all present.
2. Review and Approval of Agenda
Approved.
3. Review and Approval of Minutes of Last Meeting
Minutes of May 14th, 2018, meeting approved.
4. Administrators’ Report
Sean Harrington reported on the following past and upcoming events:
- Sports Day;
- Hold and Secure – parent feedback that it was good to have been able to pick children up at main office door, but ultimately directions of the RCMP must be followed;
- Band performances to take place on Wed. June 13th – 1:30 and 6:30 p.m.;
- Recognition assembly scheduled for Wed. June 23rd1:15 p.m.;
- Year End field trips are scheduled by teachers for their specific class;
- Reports cards will be sent home on June 27th;
- School starting again on Sept. 4th;
- School goals development by all staff;
- Grade 7 Farewell assembly will take place on Wed. June 27, 9:15 a.m.;
- Year End assembly will take place on Thursday, June 28th, 1:15 p.m.;
- Staffing - the following teachers will be leaving after this year: Mr. Hunter, Ms. Danahy, R. Kullar-Bains, N. Iwata, E. Gyroffy, J. Thomson, and the following are being rehired: R. Maika and Krystal Soo and Kayla Kaerne.
5. Treasurer's Report
Laura Gillanders reported that fundraising has raised $11,000 more than last year, and from the current budget $9,000 currently remains uncommitted. Laura will be writing the grant application for the next cycle of “Gaming funds” with the help of other PAC members.
6.Fundraising Report
Karen reported no further fundraising activities are planned for the current school year. Karin and Kay will be taking the lead in September as food-day (Munch-a-Lunch) and pizza day coordinators. Parents are required to help volunteer – please contact the PAC! Movie nights will begin again in September, and the fall Craft Fair will also again take place.
7.District PAC Association Update
Karen attended the most recent meeting and learned that school enrolment in Richmond is expected to stabilize. The School Board will be funding playground improvements and is undertaking district-wide emergency preparedness planning, along with planning for funding.
Motion– Karen moved that up to $200 be approved to pay a gratuity (tip) to the 2017/18 school year Pizza Day delivery drivers. Seconded and approved unanimously.
